Celebrity Recreation #2 – Selena Gomez’s 2017 Met Gala Look

Hi everyone!! It’s been a while… I feel like I have been in a makeup/beauty/wellness funk for the last month because of the craziness of school and work. Nonetheless, I am pushing myself out of my little hole of school and work and forcing myself to get back into what I love – beauty and wellness. I have been putting more effort into my everyday routine and creating content, and I will be getting back into freelancing next week. Can’t wait!

I have been wanting to recreate Selena’s 2017 Met Gala look since the minute the pictures were posted online. I thought she looked stunning, but her eye makeup was gorgeous in particular. I thought it suited her perfectly, and flowed beautifully with her dress.

I am quite happy with how my recreation turned out. My eye shape is every different from Selena’s, so I kept my pink eyeshadow lower than it appears on Selena. Her brow bone is quite low, so she is able to pull off the high gradience better than I can. Other than that, the look was rather easy to recreate!

Selena has a very slight glow to her face, but her foundation still has good coverage to it. To get this, I mixed both the Fenty Beauty Soft Matte Pro Filt’r Foundation and Maybelline Matte and Poreless Foundation. Surprisingly, neither of these matte foundations are that matte on my skin.

Primer – Laura Mercier Hydrating Primer

Foundation – Fenty Beauty Soft Matte Pro Filt’r Foundation in 120 and Maybelline Matte and Poreless Foundation in 220

Concealer – Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer in Fair

Under Eye Setting Powder – Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder

Powder – Kat Von D Blotting Powder in Light

Selena has glowy, pink cheeks with a subtle warmth of bronze swept across the face. I kept my cheek look very gentle and glowy.

Bronzer – Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer in Milk Chocolate

Blush – MAC  Pro Longwear Blush in Stay Pretty

Highlight – Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Hu$tla Baby/Mean Money

The statement part of the look is clearly the eyes, and it was fairly easy to achieve! All I did was create a blown-out, pink smokey eye with faint glitter on the lid. The bottom lash line was left completely empty!

In the crease – Anastasia Modern Renaissance Golden Ochre and Raw Sienna

In the outer V and lid – Modern Renaissance Love Letter (yes, only one shade!)

On the centre lid – MAC single eyeshadow in Mythology and Too Faced loose glitter in Glitterally

Inner Corner – Modern Renaissance Vermeer

On the waterline (upper and lower) – Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil in Zero

Mascara – Urban Decay Troublemaker Mascara in Black

Lashes – Huda Beauty in Samantha

Selena and I have totally different eyebrows, so I just did my normal routine.

Pomade – Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade in Taupe

Brow Gel – Benefit Cosmetics 24 Hour Brow Setter

Selena’s lipstick is almost a perfect match for MAC’s Modesty. That is all I used!

Lipstick – MAC Modesty
