Celebrity Recreation ~ Taylor Swift’s 57th Grammys Look

This is the first of a new instalment I’ve decided to take a crack at – celebrity recreations. I got the idea from watching Katy DeGroot (LustreLux on Youtube) do a recreation of a Cara Delevingne look. I instantly went on Pinterest and created a Celebrity Makeup Look board to save any inspiration I might find. I decided to try to recreate Taylor Swift’s 57th Grammys not only because Look What You Made Me Do has been stuck in my head for ever now, but Taylor has always been an inspiration for me growing up and now as an adult. I thought it was only fitting to recreate one of her looks first. I also inspired by this look to work with blues. I have a few in my collection but never use them because I rarely use bright colours! Here’s how it turned out.

Taylor has no shine to her face, so I went with a matte foundation with medium to full coverage. The Too Faced foundation I used is matte but very natural so it looks like skin. I felt like it fit with the look perfectly.

Primer – BECCA First Light Priming Filter

Foundation – Too Faced Peach Perfect Comfort Matte Foundation in Vanilla

Concealer – Sephora Collection Gel Serum Concealer in Fondant

Under Eye Setting Powder – Covergirl Loose Translucent Powder

Powder – Kat Von D Blotting Powder in Light

Taylor’s cheeks are very subtle, with a splash on warmth to the cheeks and pink blush on the apples of her cheeks. I kept it subtle (mine is a bit more noticeable due to lighting) and it came off very fresh on the face in real life.

Bronzer – Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer in Milk Chocolate (the lightest shade they have available)

Blush – MAC  Pro Longwear Blush in Stay Pretty (a true baby doll pink)

Highlight – Urban Decay Naked Flushed Palette in Going Native

The eyes of this look were a lot harder to get right than it appears. I spent close to an hour on the eyes alone. I started with Scotch Tape to mark out my cat eye line and built from there. The blues I have were extremely hard to work with and I probably blended and layered the blue over 10 times. I don’t recommend using these blues if you want to recreate this look. After laying the blue and getting it the shape I wanted, I used concealer to mark out where I wanted to place the silver colour on my lid.

In the crease – Too Faced x Nikki Tutorials Palette Painkiller

In the outer V – Too Faced x Nikki Tutorials Palette Mystic Hour and L’Oreal Color Infaillible Pressed Shadow in All Night Blue

On the lid – Urban Decay Naked2 Palette Pistol

On the lower lash line – Too Faced x Nikki Tutorials Palette Wanted and Mystic Hour and L’Oreal Color Infaillible Pressed Shadow in All Night Blue, with Too Faced Painkiller to blend

Inner Corner – Urban Decay Naked2 Palette Pistol

Glitter on lower inner corner – Too Faced x Nikki Tutorials glitter in Glitterally (applied with a damp lip brush)

On the waterline – NYC Kohl Eyeliner Pencil in White

Liner – Maybelline Line Stiletto Ultimate Precision Liquid Liner in Blackest Black (very thin line)

Mascara – Covergirl Katy Kat Mascara in Black

Lashes – Ardell Lashes in 120 Demi

Taylor’s brows are very thin and fairly messy – the exact opposite of how I normally wear my brows. To recreate this, I used a very soft, blendable eyebrow pencil and kept it messy but blended. I went over the top with my brow gel to give the appearance of messy brow hairs.

Pencil – Wet n’ Wild Color Icon Brow Pencil in Blonde Moment

Brow Gel – The Body Shop Clear Mascara and Brow Gel

I didn’t think I had a lipstick has light pink as what Taylor is wearing, so I decided to use a lip liner to give my lips a bigger shape closer to Taylor’s and use MAC’s Creme Cup over top. However, I found L’Oreal’s lipstick in Ballerina Shoes in my collection and I think it may have worked better. And it’s much cheaper!

Lip Liner – Annabelle Big Show Gel Lip Liner in Meet Rosie

Lipstick – MAC Creme Cup

I hope you found this helpful and liked this new series I plan on trying out! Let me know in the comments or on Instagram or Twitter if there are any looks you want me to recreate!
